Vice President, Human Resources
Steve Johnston joined Piper in 2004 as Director, Human Resources (HR), and was appointed Vice President of HR in 2008. He has more than 25 years experience in HR in the service, biomedical, automotive, paper and general aviation industries. Johnston was the head of HR for bioMerieux, which was previously the biomedical and medical diagnostics division of McDonnell-Douglas in St. Louis. Later he worked for Siemens Electro-Mechanical Components and had oversight of the HR teams in the Siemens manufacturing facilities in Marion, Kentucky; Franklin, Kentucky; Charlotte, North Carolina; and Juarez, Mexico. Prior to joining Piper, Johnston was the head of HR for the Bay West division of Wausau Paper Corporation in Harrodsburg, Kentucky.
Johnston is a certified leadership development trainer from DDI and Zenger-Miller, and is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) from the Society for Human Resources Management. Johnston holds a bachelors degree from Truman State University and a Masters Degree from Lindenwood University.
