Savannah, Ga., June, 7, 2011 – Piper Aircraft Inc. is displaying a number of its new aircraft here this week as part of its sponsorship of the 2011 International Ferrari Meet, which is being held in Savannah June 8 through June 12 by the Ferrari Club of America.
The Ferrari Club is a group of 5,000 enthusiasts for the racy Italian sports cars. The annual meeting draws hundreds of Ferraris and hundreds of automobile enthusiasts from around the world to a swap meet, concours, rally, track event and banquets.
Ready, Set, Fly Program Featured
“The Ferrari meet is a great occasion to feature Piper programs and airplanes before a contingent of people with an appreciation for styling and performance and the wherewithal to become aircraft owners who may not yet be pilots,” said Piper Executive Vice President Randy Groom. “This is an opportunity to tell them about our Ready, Set, Fly program that helps new Archer LX owners learn to fly safely and efficiently in their own aircraft at our Vero Beach, Fla., facilities.”
Piper’s new program is a convenient and concentrated roughly three-week standardized training course conducted by a dedicated, professional instructor. The custom program, created specifically for new Piper Archer LX owners, enables them to go from zero time to completion of their private pilot training safely, effectively and efficiently. The program also emphasizes Piper’s continuing commitment to the light aircraft segment and to the critical general aviation mission of attracting new pilots to the industry.
