How did your career at Piper begin?
Eleven years ago, I took a chance and filled out an application at a job fair back in 2005. I owned my own cleaning service for 12 years, but had decided I wanted to do something different.

What makes working at Piper a unique experience?
Being able to perform my job from start to finish and understanding that I am helping to build a product that makes a customer proud to be an owner of a Piper aircraft. I really love my job at Piper Aircraft.

How do you feel Piper excels as an employer?
Piper is an all-around great place to work. As a company, Piper is always looking to the future and looking for ways to improve. It is nice to work in a growing environment.

Attila-Giovanni Gabor; Engineer I, Propulsion/Mechanical Systems

How would you best describe your function in your department?
I work in the Systems Department, which makes me responsible for the design and improvements of the inner workings of the aircraft. I’ve worked on the power plant, pitot-static, and fuel systems in the past, but recently I’ve been focused on the hydraulic and oxygen systems.

What makes working at Piper a unique experience?
The fact that we design, build, and test aircraft at the same location affords me the opportunity to be hands-on in learning about all the stages involved in developing an aircraft.

What is most gratifying about your position?
Something that has always impressed me about Piper is that even though people have busy schedules related to designing or building airplanes, they are always willing to take the time to answer any questions I might have.

CHRISTINA ABU JAHAL; FLIGHT TEST ENGINEER INTERN

What do you enjoy most about working at Piper?
It is a unique atmosphere in Engineering. The people here are very serious and focused on work, as it involves the most critical final stages of the airplanes’ functionality. I am in the Flight Test Department and I am amazed to see my coworkers fly the test planes.

How would you best describe your function in your department?
I would best describe my responsibilities as multi-tasking. I was taught how to update the Flight Test progress tracking excel sheets, update Flight Test database, and how to use various types of computer applications, such as Aviation Checklist Editor (ACE), AutoCAD, Unigraphic NX (Avionics), and Adobe Illustrator.

What do you find most challenging about your current position?
The most challenging part as an intern is familiarizing myself with all the existing software applications that are being used in the facilities. This requires concentration, dedication, and patience in order to complete any given task.
